Notification bar is asking me to update to ie9.?

I don't want it and its driving me crazy! How do I make it stop asking? The IE9 is way too secure. My child can not even go to Disney? Even had problems with PBS? After 90 minutes of frustration from having it, I got rid of it on my children's computer. I spent longer to get rid of the notifications last month on my pc and now they are back. I really don't see Mickey Mouse or Sesame Street putting bad things on my computer. lol
