Is a default for autistic symptoms a liking of bright colors or soft comfortable surfaces?
I'm almost 19 3/4 years old, always have been autistic, and I'm about to have an appointment with a therapist that knows how to work with autistic people. I just want to know if it really is true that by default one of the symptoms for autism is a liking of bright colors or soft comfortable surfaces. I have a liking for bright colorful shows, usually cartoons and children's shows, such as Sesame Street, Care Bears, Thomas the Tank Engine, the 1960s Batman show, the Muppets, Disney cartoons, and a few action oriented shows. Soft comfortable surfaces really arouse me, as I am not aroused by things that men my age usually are aroused by (sex, anyone?). If you can confirm that these symptoms are common around other autistic children, then I won't feel alone in the world, that other people are like me.
