What are the bugs in my basement apartment?

I've been finding small bugs in my basement apartment, not much larger than a sesame seed. These bugs are round and hard like a beetle, but aren't ticks... there doesn't appear to be a mouthpiece or a set of feelers that I can detect. They seem to hang out on clothing or on my couch, they haven't harmed me thus far (although I have plenty of unexplained bites from living in a basement apartment during the rainy season). They seem to squish easily :[ (oops) I haven't gotten the chance to count legs. Anyone have any ideas?
